Expanding upon the triumph of the AIKON, Maurice Lacroix’s urban watch sensation, the Franches Montagnes-based brand is thrilled to introduce the AIKON PVD in two distinct variations, each of which is strictly limited to 888 pieces. As its name implies, the case of each model boasts a PVD coating, resulting in a captivating metallic radiance. Furthermore, every dial is adorned with an exquisite Clous de Paris pattern. These novel editions retain the hallmark features that have made the urban watch a favorite, while simultaneously offering a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.
THE ORIGINS
In 2016, deep within the confines of the Maurice Lacroix Manufacture, the creative team added the finishing touches to a groundbreaking new model. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Calypso, a timepiece that enjoyed immense popularity in the 1990s, the team embarked on a brainstorming journey to find the perfect name for their significant creation. Ultimately, ’AIKON’ was chosen, a name that has since become synonymous with urban luxury. The collection has achieved remarkable success for the luxury brand, expanding to encompass mechanical watches available in a diverse range of sizes, colors, and materials. Furthermore, Maurice Lacroix has introduced models featuring a plethora of complications, as well as captivating skeletonized options. The driving force behind the ongoing evolution of the AIKON is Maurice Lacroix’s unwavering commitment to innovation, a mindset that permeates every facet of the company.
TWO NEW VERSIONS
In line with this creative spirit, Maurice Lacroix proudly unveils two new iterations, each dressed in a selection of stylish, lustrous hues. Both timepieces are cloaked in PVD, bestowing upon them a mesmerizing metallic sheen that enchants under various lighting conditions. One variant, measuring 39mm in diameter, is elegantly presented in midnight blue, while the other resides in a 42mm case executed in a sophisticated gunmetal grey. The gunmetal grey variant features a dial with a matching smoky hue, beautifully adorned with the iconic Clous de Paris motif. The dial shade gracefully transitions from lighter at the center to deeper near the periphery of the display. The AIKON PVD succinctly imparts the essential elements of time—namely, hours, minutes, and seconds—making it the perfect choice for those who appreciate elegant simplicity.
An exhibition caseback provides a view of the automatic ML115 caliber, meticulously embellished with perlage and colimaçon finishing. Each watch is accompanied by a coordinated rubber strap bearing the distinctive "M" logo. Consistent with all AIKON models, the AIKON PVD is equipped with the Maurice Lacroix Easy Strap Exchange system, facilitating the effortless swapping of straps without the need for any tools.
